Disabled American Veteran Desiree Emillio Duverge participant in the 2013 National Veterans Winter Sports Clinic at Snowmass Village, Colo. is an inspiration to all. Nearly 400 Veterans receive professional instruction in adaptive Alpine and Nordic skiing, and are introduced to various physical activities such as rock climbing, scuba diving, curling, sled hockey, and self-defense taught by the U.S. Secret Service.

The Clinic is open to disabled U.S. military Veterans, who receive care at a VA medical facility or military treatment centers. The clinic features participants from across the country, including many who served in recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
